How to ship a container from Tunisia?

What information should be shared with MOHAB for a free quotation?

First of all, you need to inform us whether you require LCL, FCL, LTL, or FTL transport, as well as the Incoterm negotiated with your supplier.

If your request concerns a full container (FCL) or a full truckload (FTL), it is sufficient to provide us with the pickup address, the type of container, and the port of discharge in Tunisia in order to prepare our price offer.

For LCL or LTL shipments, we will need the pickup address as well as the dimensions and weight of each pallet.

    Frequently asked questions

How should I choose the most efficient shipping line?

You can ask your advisor at Mohab, who will guide you in choosing the shipping line best suited to your specific situation.

Is the route announced by the shipping line strictly followed?

Generally, the indicated itinerary is followed, though often with slight delays, and sometimes there may be surprises. Be cautious regarding the "transit time" and try to check the vessel's history.

What is the difference between FCL (Full Container Load) and LCL (Groupage)?
    • FCL (Full Container Load): You rent an entire container (20' or 40') for your goods. This is the fastest and most secure solution for large volumes.

    • LCL (Less than Container Load): Your goods share container space with other shippers. You only pay for the volume (cbm) you use. This is the most cost-effective solution for smaller shipments.

What are the average transit times to the Port of Rades?

Transit times vary depending on the port of origin:

    • From the Mediterranean (Marseille, Genoa, Barcelona): 24 to 48 hours at sea.

    • From Asia (Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen): Approximately 35 to 45 days.

    • From North America: Approximately 20 to 30 days depending on the shipping line and transshipments.

What documents are required for maritime imports into Tunisia?

To ensure Mohab Logistics can process your file efficiently, the standard documents required are:

    • Original Bill of Lading (B/L).

    • Detailed Commercial Invoice.

    • Packing List.

    • Certificate of Origin (depending on the origin).

    • Foreign Trade Title (if applicable).

Do you provide customs clearance services at the Port of Rades?

Yes. As a licensed customs broker, we handle all customs formalities. Our physical presence at Rades allows us to speed up inspection and pick-up procedures, helping to minimize demurrage and storage costs.

How can I track my container?

Once your shipment is confirmed, you will receive a file or container number. You can track your cargo's status directly via our Online Tracking Tool or by contacting your dedicated Mohab agent for a position report.
